Who am I?
That's a deep question! But to briefly sum myself up professionally: I'm a designer from the suburbs of Philadelphia who loves to learn and expand my skill set. I come from a fine art and illustration background. As a child, I spent seven years attending an art studio on weekends, where I'd draw and paint still lives, portraits, and abstract images. I graduated from the University of the Arts in 2017, with a BFA in illustration, and have been working in graphic design since. However, throughout my years as a graphic designer, I took an interest in tech and user-centric design. So here I am, today, diving into the UI/UX space.
Why the bear?
In case you're wondering why I have a bear in my logo, it's not because I love bears (though I do think they're cute!). The reason is because my nickname in Russian is "Mishka", which means "little bear". My parents came to the United States from Kiev, Ukraine in 1990, and Russian is their native language. So to tie my ethnic background into my personal brand, in college I decided to illustrate a blue (my favorite color) bear as my logo icon.
What excites me most about UX?
I love pulling together imagery and icons to start bringing the visual design of a product to life. I also really enjoy creating interactivity within a screen and from one frame to the next. Seeing a product look and function like a real app or website is a really rewarding feeling!
Aside from design, what are my passions?
Growing up, I took a variety of dance classes ranging from ballet, tap, and jazz to ballroom. In college, I discovered salsa and bachata and fell in love with these styles. I've been dancing for all of my adulthood and hope to continue this hobby until my hips give out haha.

I also love coming up with product ideas- whether it be an app or a physical good. I get inspired by people who think of an innovative idea, follow through with it, and figure out how to build a successful empire. Hence, I enjoy shows like Shark Tank and Silicon Valley.
